The City provides a direct channel of communication with citizens (besides the telephone assistance) through free mobile messaging system WhatsApp.

Description

Mataró City Council has launched a new channel for citizen through WhatsApp, a messaging application that allows you to send and receive written messages or images from a smartphone without having to pay for SMS.

The new system is integrated with the Citizen Service platform serves from the phone attention number 010. Anyone on a Smartphone can be connected via the number 606 61 43 07.

The City Council WhatsApp is operating on the same schedule that the 010 phone platform: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 7 pm, without interruption.

WhatsApp is currently available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Android and Nokia. The system uses the data plan that you have hired to Internet user and, therefore, there is no extra cost for sending and receiving messages.

Through WhatsApp citizens can request information from City Hall and the municipality and report incidents, accompanied, if they think fit, photographs, geolocated images or videos, which will be referred to municipal services responsible for meeting them. Depending on the type of request, the response will be made through the same WhatsApp or through a phone call or other communication systems. Right now you can also conduct some business such as ordering a wheel pattern, provided the name and ID card holder is supplied.

There are a total of 100 keywords, which are used for citizens to get detailed information on a particular topic. For example if you send a message with the word "agenda" all information on the city agenda will be received.
