XII edition of the IOPD Award “Best Practice in Citizen Participation”

The International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) invites local and regional governments that are members of the IOPD to submit their proposal for the XII edition of the award. This distinction is an award given annually by the observatory to recognize innovative experiences and public policies on citizen participation.

In this edition, the candidacies will be evaluated by an expert jury once have passed a first evaluation stage by all IOPD members through the online participatory platform PARTICIPATE OIDP. The purpose of this initial stage is, on the one hand, to give visibility to all proposals and, on the other hand, to collect the members’ opinions on all practices submitted.

The PARTICIPATE OIDP platform is based on DECIDIM, a free open source digital infrastructure that can be used for different kinds of participatory processes such as participatory strategic planning, participatory budgeting, debates, citizen initiatives, and others.

The deadline for proposal submissions is the 7th May 2018 and won’t be extended. Proposals must be submitted in three languages (English, French and Spanish).

Visit our website to find out more about the terms, calendar, and how to submit a proposal.

Should you have any doubt, please send an email to award@oidp.net.
