The city council of Cocody in the metropolitan region of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, will host the 20th IOPD Conference, which had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on October 20, 21 and 22.  The theme of the conference is "Sustainable cities/territories and participatory democracy" and is structured along 4 axes: local economic development; environment and participation; right to the city; and governance and participatory democracy.

Cocody 2021 is conceived to promote exchanges and interactions at all levels. Its program will include numerous spaces to encourage interactions, workshops to exchange experiences and practices, round tables and seminars. Meetings will be organized in the margins of the conference between conference participants, women, young people and traditional authorities in the city's neighborhoods.
