These 65 nominations exceed the 48 of the previous edition (2017) and the 36 nominations of the tenth edition (2016) and the 32 of the ninth (2015).

From May 15 to May 31, all IOPD members registered on the ParticipateOIDP platform will be able to comment on submitted and validated applications, and they will also be able to vote up to 3 proposals to move on to the next phase. The objective of this phase is that city representatives and other member institutions can discover innovative policies of our local governments.

The 20 most voted candidacies will pass to the next phase, when an international jury will examine the applications that have been supplemented with additional information. The winning city and cities with special awards will be presented at the 18th IOPD Conference, which will take place in Barcelona from 25 to 27 November.
