In the framework of the 2026 OIDP General Assembly, the network is opening a renewed process to strengthen and diversify its leadership. Local and regional governments, as well as associations of local authorities that are members of the OIDP, are encouraged to take a more active role in guiding the network’s strategic direction and global agenda.

Who can become a Promoter Member?

All local and regional governments and associations of local governments that are part of the OIDP network are eligible. New members can also join the network through the official membership process.

What are the benefits?

Promoter Members play a central role in the governance of the OIDP. They:

• Participate in the Steering Committee and contribute to strategic decision-making

• Help implement and guide the network’s annual work plan

• Represent the OIDP in international events and partnerships

• Gain visibility through the network’s communication and dissemination materials

What does it involve?

Becoming a Promoter Member implies an active commitment to the network, including contributions that may be financial, technical, or in-kind, and engagement in the collective development of OIDP activities and priorities.

How to apply?

Interested institutions should send a formal expression of interest to the OIDP Technical Secretariat at oidp@uclg.org before 6 September 2026.
