Call for applications to join the juries of the 17th IOPD Award

Interested experts are invited to communicate their willingness to be part of the juries until 24 May 2023

The IOPD technical secretariat is calling for applications to join the juries of the 17th IOPD Best Practice Award for Citizen Participation.

There will be two juries: one for the first phase of evaluation of applications and selection of finalists, and another for the second phase to select the winners. Interested persons are invited to choose the jury they wish to participate in.

The first jury will consist of a minimum of 9 people and will be divided into three groups per category: deliberation, decision, and citizenship. During June, this jury will read and evaluate the applications received and select the finalists who will move on to the second phase.

The second jury will be made up of 5 to 7 people. This jury will be in charge of evaluating the finalists between July and August to choose the winners.

Requirements to be part of the jury:

  • Have experience in the topics of participatory democracy, citizen participation, local government, and open government (in the fields of academia, consultancy, or administration).
  • Be able to read in two of these languages: English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish (fluency in more than one language would be an asset).
  • Once we have the list of applications, we will ask you to indicate if there is any conflict of interest with the applications.
