Since 2016, and having obtained the approval of the 1st norm of Access to Public Information and Active Transparency in Olavarría, the local government has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening public policies of transparency and access to information, and in guaranteeing this right, understanding it as an essential right for the exercise of other rights, fundamental for informed decision making, as well as constituting it as a tool of closeness to the community and an effective instrument for the fight against corruption and accountability.

During the month of last June (year 2018), the Municipality proposed to the Olavarriense community to join the "1st Data Opening Plan of Olavarría". This Plan began with an event where more than 100 representatives from 30 institutions throughout the Party participated, and where the Municipality together with these intermediate actors signed an agreement.

It's a proposal that involves a change, and implies novelty and originality in the way of building a public policy. The commitment of all those involved is proving to be an essential factor for the sustainability and strengthening of public policy over time,

The idea is to give strength to a new culture of access to information and transparency in Olavarría, not only as plaintiffs towards public administration, but also from their own institutions that may not be "obliged subjects" nor are they reached by any norm, but they are key actors when generating data and it is essential that they are accessible and available to those who require it. This has the ultimate goal of strengthening the community at all levels.
